INTERN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM and ALLOWANCE
Eligibility and Assignment
- Employees may be assigned as mentors to interns subject to operational needs and Management approval.
- Interns are usually (but not always) grouped by school and assigned to projects accordingly.
- A maximum of three (3) interns may be assigned to one (1) project. If four (4) or more interns come from the same school, they shall be divided into multiple projects.
- Each project may have up to two (2) mentors. If only one (1) intern is assigned to a project, only one (1) mentor shall be designated. Mentors may divide responsibilities by function (e.g., frontend and backend), and there is no formal “lead mentor” designation unless otherwise specified by Management.
Scope of Mentorship
Mentorship includes providing project guidance, supervising deliverables, monitoring progress, and guiding interns on relevant skills and learning outcomes. Supervision may be conducted on-site or remotely through Company-approved communication platforms.
Mentorship Load
As a general guideline, one (1) project (up to three interns) per mentor is considered manageable alongside regular work duties. Assignment to additional projects is subject to availability and Management approval.
Mentorship Allowance
Employees assigned as mentors shall receive a mentorship allowance of ₱10.00 per hour for each intern supervised. The allowance shall be computed based on the total number of validated internship hours completed by the intern. When two (2) mentors are assigned to the same project, the total mentorship allowance for the intern or intern group shall be pooled and equally divided between the mentors, unless Management approves a different arrangement.
Payment and Validation
Internship hours shall be monitored and validated by the Admin Department. The mentorship allowance shall be payable after the successful completion of the internship program, based on validated records. As an illustration, if an intern completes 190 total internship hours, the assigned mentor shall receive a mentorship allowance of ₱1,900.00. The standard mode of payment is BCH, unless another method (e.g., bank transfer or cash) is approved by Management.
Incomplete or Early Termination
If an intern withdraws, fails to complete the program, or is reassigned, the mentorship allowance shall be computed only up to the actual internship hours rendered, subject to validation.
Nature of the Allowance
The mentorship allowance is granted in recognition of additional supervisory responsibility and does not form part of the employee’s basic salary or regular compensation.
