Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B

SciBiz Informatics is committed to maintaining a healthy workforce and complying with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) mandates regarding infectious and communicable diseases. The Company implements the following protocols for Tuberculosis (TB), HIV/AIDS, and Hepatitis B.

Non-Discrimination and Equal Opportunity

  • Employment Status: No employee shall be terminated, denied promotion, or discriminated against solely on the basis of their health status regarding TB, HIV, or Hepatitis B.

  • Fitness to Work: An employee's right to continue working shall be determined by their medical fitness as certified by a licensed physician. As long as the employee is medically fit to perform their duties, they shall be allowed to remain in their position.

Confidentiality of Medical Records

  • All medical information, test results, and records related to these conditions are classified as Highly Sensitive Personal Data.

  • Access is restricted to the Admin/Accounting Head and the President. Any employee found unauthorizedly leaking or discussing a colleague’s health status will face Grave Disciplinary Action, including potential termination.

Workplace Prevention and Support

  • Tuberculosis (TB): Employees diagnosed with TB shall be granted leave for the initial phase of treatment. They may return to work once cleared by a physician as non-infectious. The Company encourages adherence to the DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment, Short-course) program.

  • HIV/AIDS: In accordance with RA 11166, the Company shall promote HIV/AIDS awareness. Testing is voluntary; the Company will never require HIV testing as a condition for employment or continued stay.

  • Hepatitis B: Following Department Advisory No. 05, Series of 2010, there shall be no mandatory Hepatitis B screening. Employees with Hepatitis B are entitled to the same benefits and rights as other employees.

Health Education

The Company shall provide periodic information and education to all staff to eliminate stigma and foster a supportive environment for those managing these health conditions.
