Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children (RA 9262)
In accordance with Republic Act No. 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), SciBiz Informatics is committed to supporting employees who are victims of violence and ensuring their safety and security within the workplace.
The 10-Day Paid VAWC Leave
Any female employee who is a victim of physical, sexual, psychological, or economic violence as defined under the law is entitled to a paid leave of up to ten (10) days per year.
Purpose: This leave is intended to allow the employee to attend to medical, legal, and relocation needs, or to seek protection for herself and her children.
Usage: The leave may be used continuously or intermittently, depending on the requirements of the legal or medical proceedings.
Documentation Requirements
To avail of the VAWC leave, the employee must submit a Certification from any of the following authorities to the Admin/Accounting Department:
A Punong Barangay or Barangay Secretary (Barangay Protection Order);
A Prosecutor or Clerk of Court (showing a pending legal case);
A Police Officer (Police Report) or a Healthcare Provider.
Note: The Company shall accept these documents without prejudice or further interrogation to ensure the employee's privacy.
Confidentiality and Security
Privacy: All information and documentation related to a VAWC claim shall be treated as Highly Confidential. Only the President and the Admin/Accounting Head shall have access to these records.
Workplace Protection: If the employee has a standing Protection Order, the Company will cooperate with law enforcement to ensure that the perpetrator is denied access to the employee within the company premises or work-sites.
Non-Discrimination
The Company shall not discriminate against any woman who has a pending case or has availed of VAWC benefits. Any form of prejudice regarding an employee’s status as a survivor of violence is a violation of company conduct and may result in disciplinary action.
